The attack in Balochistan's Mastung area on Friday has claimed 128 lives; the attack was the second in the same day thet targeted political candidates ahead of July 25 general elections.
The explosion, claimed by Islamic State (Da'ish), was directed at a convoy of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, who lost his life in the attack.
Earlier on Friday, at least four people were killed and several injured in a blast at Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The bomb went off near the rally of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (F)'s Akram Khan Durrani, who is contesting against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.
The US Department of State has condemned the recent events saying "These attacks are cowardly attempts to deprive the Pakistani people of their democratic rights. We grieve with those mourning the victims, and hope for a rapid recovery of those injured."
On July 09, Awami National Party's candidate from Peshawar was killed along with 19 others in a suicide blast that was claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
