Theairport of Hong Kong has reopened on Tuesday but its administrator warned thatflight movements would still be affected as more than 200 flights have beencancelled today.

Theprotests in China began as opposition to a now-suspended bill that would haveallowed extradition to mainland China but have grown into wider calls fordemocracy. It has plunged the Chinese-ruled territory into its most seriouscrisis in decades presenting Chinese leader Xi Jinping with one of his biggestchallenges since he came to power in 2012.
Accordingto social media posts on Tuesday, the protestors have been switching tactics inrecent weeks and that more than a dozen sit-ins were planned at hospitals inthe city.
TheEmbattled Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam on Tuesday said that thelawbreaking activities in the name of freedom were damaging the rule of law andthat it could take a long time for the city to recover from the protests.
As perthe notice published on the Hong Kong International Airport's official mobileapp, it said that the Hong Kong International Airport will implement flightrescheduling with flight movements expected to be affected.
However,the rescheduling will only operate a limited number of flights for connectingpassengers.
