In an interesting development in the ongoing Indo-China border flare-up, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo reportedly said on Thursday that the USA is reviewing the deployment of its forces in certain places of the world against the Chinese threat to several countries like India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.

As per PTI reports, Pompeo made the remark during the virtual Brussels Forum 2020. He reportedly said, "We're going to make sure we're postured appropriately to counter the PLA. We think that the challenge of our times, and we're going to make sure we have resources in place to do that."

He also added, "In certain places there will be fewer American resources. There'll be other places – I just talked about the threat from the Chinese Communist Party, so now threats to India, threats to Vietnam, threats to Malaysia, Indonesia, South China Sea challenges, the Philippines."

India and China are engaged in talks presently to de-escalate the tensions. However, as reported by media, things are not moving quite as expected.

China, apart from having territorial disputes with India over a large portion of the LAC, is also engaged in similar disputes in the South China Sea and East China Sea with different countries.
