The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) alleged that top officials of Assam police held a meeting with International Supari (Areca nut) Mafia at Hotel Taj Vivanta on Tuesday night.
It has beenalleged by the organization that Superintendent of Police of Karimganj districtManabendra Roy held a meeting with the international supari mafia who isrunning the huge supari syndicate in the Barak Valley.
The mediahas been informed by the KMSS that a secret meeting was held at Hotel TajVivanta between the Karinganj SP and the supari mafia after which the mediarushed to the five star hotel when the organization has shown a white Innova parkedoutside the hotel bearing no AS 25J 0001 saying that the car belongs to the SP.
KMSS, KamrupMetro district President, Kankan Thakuria further informed that Manabendra Roywas the former SP of Golaghat district where there was a huge syndicate ofsupari run by supari mafia Abdul Hanan cum Bablu. He also informed that themeeting was attended by Manabendra Roy and Kafil Ahmed who is running the blackmarket of supari along with some co-workers of Abdul Hanan saying that they haddiscussed regarding the price of supari in the black market.
It may bementioned that, at a time when Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had announcedthe zero-tolerance rule of syndicate in the state, some top officials had shownthe courage to hold meeting with the international mafias who are running thesyndicate in the state.
The KMSSalso alleged that the meeting was held between the SP and the mafias so thatthe administration couldn't interfere in the syndicate raaj in the state.
