T20 World Cup: Watch Out As India Plays Pakistan After 2 Years
Updated on

India and Pakistan go head to head in the ongoing International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup on Sunday. The two teams will be playing after a gap of two years, when they last met in the ICC organized One Day International (ODI) World Cup.

Owing to political reasons, India refrained from playing a bilateral series against Pakistan since 2012. Pakistan last travelled to India in 2013 after which they have only played in ICC events.

In their last meeting in the 50-over World Cup in June 2019, India defeated Pakistan by 89 runs by Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method. India's head-to-head record against Pakistan in T20s is also very good, at 7 wins and a defeat in 8 matches played.

India won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup, defeating Pakistan in the final. Pakistan then themselves won the trophy two years later. India and Pakistan are ranked second and third respectively, in the T20 rankings.

India has dominated Pakistan in ICC events having remained unbeaten in both ODI and T20 World Cups against them. India has also started brightly in the two warm-up matches against England and Australia.

The match being played at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai, UAE and will be broadcast on Star Sports channels – Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 3 and Star Sports 3 HD, and DD Sports. The match starts at 7:30 pm.
