League debutants Real Kashmir were held to a 0-0 draw by former champions Aizawl FC at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Aizawl in the 2 P.M. kickoff. With this result, Real Kashmir are level on points with Goan side Churchill Brothers but remain in 3rd position with 22 points owing to head to head record.
There were very less opportunities for either sides in the game with much of the play concentrated in the midfield. With new coach in the house, Aizawl displayed much positive intent on the field and dominated most minutes in the match. However Kashmiri defence was equally alert and cancelled Aizawl approach towards the the goal. The visitors began the second half on a positive note looking to make an impact at the earliest. Danish Farooq's beautiful curling effort on goal was saved by Aizawl keeper Gurpreet Singh. Neither side had the key to unlock the opposition's defence as the match ended scoreless.
Aizawl skipper Alfred Jaryan was adjudged the 'Hero of the Match' for his brilliant work rate on the pitch. The home side are now on 9th position with 10 points after game week 12.
