Assam would be taking on Odisha in its third Ranji Trophy match of the season from November 20 at the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati. The Assam team would be riding high, courtesy its 211 runs victory against Tripura in their last match. They are currently placed 4th in Elite Group C with 7 points, having won one and drawn one. Odisha, on the other hand will be looking for their 1st win of the season. They are currently placed bottom in Elite Group C with just 1 point from 2 matches.
For Assam, the openers Rishav Das and Pervez Aziz looked in fine touch in the last game bringing up a 100+ partnership for the first wicket in the 1st innings. India Under-19 starRiyan Parag also played a crucial knock in the 2nd innings bringing up a 64 ball 80 which turned out to be very crucial. However, all eyes will be on Mukhtar Hussain who was the star of the last match and picked up 9 wickets. Odisha, however does have a few loose ends to fix. Apart from Subhranshu Senapati, none of the other batsman looked determined enough to play a long innings. Among the bowlers, Basant Mohanty was on a wicket taking spree but did not have enough support from the other end. However, they would want to work on that front.
This is not the only Ranji trophy match to be played in Assam tomorrow. Mizoram will take on Manipur in Jorhat tomorrow in their Plate group match.
