Several records have been scripted and broken during the ICC World Cup 2019 match between host England and Afghanistan on Tuesday. While England captain Eoin Morgan most number of sixes in an ODI; Afghanistan bowler Rashid Khan gave away most runs by a spinner in the format.
Eoin Morgan set the world record for most sixes (17) in an ODI, surpassing Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle's joint record of most sixes (16). Morgan also scored the fastest World Cup hundred by an England player in just 57 balls. He also became the second fastest player to slam a century as a skipper in WC history.
On the other hand, Afghanistan bowler Rashid Khan has become the first spinner in cricket history give away more than 100 runs in an ODI. The world number three ODI bowler conceded 110 runs off his nine overs against the host. It should be mentioned here that so far 12 bowlers have conceded more than 100 runs in an ODI.
