Mary Kom heads to the final, after defeating Kim Hyang Mi of North Korea at the KD Jhadav Hall for her semifinal bout, in a bid to win her sixth World Championship in Boxing as the New Delhi crowd cheer with utmost happiness and joy.
The 35-year-old five-time world champion is set to take on her Ukrainian counterpart in the much awaited final of Women's Light Flyweight (45-48Kg) category.
Mary, who has been the torch-bearer of women's boxing for India for a long time, created history once again at the Women's World Championships where she became the most successful pugilist in the tournament's history by assuring herself a seventh medal after a 5-0 win over China's Wu Yu in the light flyweight (48kg) category.
Although the The North Korean boxer did lay in a few punches, but Mary Kom was equally dominant in the battle.
