Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli and tumbling of records go hand in hand. King Kohli once again proved it by inking his name in the record books by becoming the fastest to score 10,000 runs in One-Day International (ODI) matches.
Virat Kohli achieved this feat in today's match against West Indies in Vizag as he reached this milestone in just 205 ODI innings, surpassing Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's record in 259 innings.
The Indian skipper was short of the milestone by just 221 runs at the beginning of the series but his blistering knock of 140 in the first ODI match at Guwahati left him just 81 runs shy of registering his name in the record books.
Kohli is also the fastest to reach 8,000 and 9,000 ODI runs.
He also became the fastest to get to the 10,000 runs mark in comparison to years active of playing international cricket. He achieved the feat within 10 years and 66 days of playing ODI cricket. He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on August 18, 2008.
The number one ranked ODI and Test batsmen at the moment also became the 5th Indian batsmen to achieve the feat and the 13th overall.
