Bengaluru FC once again regained their position at the top of the Hero Indian Super League points table after a hard fought 2-1 win against NorthEast United FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, on Wednesday. In the 14th minute, a Mislav Komorski-own goal gave Bengaluru the lead before Federico Gallego struck in the 60th minute to equalise. The hosts clinched a match-winner in the 71st minute through Chencho Gyeltshen who had earlier scored the much needed equaliser for Bengaluru against NEUFC in the reverse fixture at Guwahati.
NorthEast did threaten on a few occasions after the interval and towards the closing stages. Substitute Panagiotis Triadis found himself one-on-one with Gurpreet in the 69th minute after holding onto an excellent lofted ball by Lalthathanga Khawlhring.
A 2nd consecutive ISL Emerging Player of the Match Award for our young midfielder Lalthathanga Khawlhring as he regularly troubled the opposition tonight! 🙌🏻#StrongerTogether#8States1United pic.twitter.com/OKFoHm786O

But the new Greek-German signing failed to beat the India international Gurpreet Singh who made the difference in between the sticks to deny the visitors and help his team clinch three points on home soil. The win helped the Blues climb to the top of the table with 30 points after 13 games. NorthEast United remain third with 23 points from 14 matches.
