The Indian women cricket team humiliated Malaysia by thrashing them to a 142 runs defeat in their Women's Twenty-20 Asia Cup opening match at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India posted 169 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs. India's opener and veteran batswoman Mithali Raj scored an unbeaten 97 off just 69 balls to take India to a fighting score.
Much to the horror of the hosts, Malaysia could only manage just 27 in 13.4 overs. Six Malaysian players scored a duck as their chase never actually got going.
Pooja Vastrakar claimed the maximum of 3 wickets for India in the second innings of the match. Mithali Raj was adjudged player of the match for her outstanding performance with the bat.
India will play Thailand on Monday and face Bangladesh on Wednesday. All eyes are on the match with arch rivals Pakistan on Saturday.
