India thrashed Bangladesh by 28 runs at Edgbaston cricket ground in Birmingham on Tuesday to qualify for the semi-finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. India became the second team to qualify for the semis after Australia.

Earlierafter winning the toss, India scored 314 for nine against Bangladesh in the40th match. Rohit Sharma once again scored a century to become the top scorerof the tournament. He crossed the 500-run mark in the tournament and became thesecond Indian batsman to amass 500 plus runs in one edition of the World Cup,after Sachin Tendulkar. He has also equaled Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara'srecord of scoring four hundreds in a World Cup. However, the Indian inningsonce again lacked the final flourish.

Chasing315, Bangladesh were in the hunt till the 34th over but all their hopes weredashed when Shakib Al Hasan fell to Hardik Pandya. Jasprit Bumrah got 4 wickets,while Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets.Rohit Sharma named Man of the Match (MoM).
