After bringing laurels to India in IAAF World U20 Championships 2018, Assam girl Hima Das has ready to give her unbeatable performance at 18th Asian games in Jakarta. To bring medal in Asiad 2018, 'Dhing express' Hima will be competing in the women's 400 m qualification round on Saturday from 7:05 pm.
She will take part in 200m and 400m events at the Asian Games in Indonesia.
It may be mentioned that, Before Hima, Arjuna Award winner Bhogeswar Baruah managed to acquire gold in the 800m event at the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok.
Hima to run on track in Asian games after 50 years as Assamese athlete. Her timing of 51.32 seconds at the Commonwealth Games placed her sixth in a world-class field but a run in 51.46 seconds at Tampere made her the first Indian woman to win a gold at an IAAF World Junior Championships. Her 49.08 seconds timing while finishing second in the Monaco leg Diamond League Meeting last month is the Asian record and second leading time in the world this season.
