Australia has defeated India by three wickets in a last-ball thriller in the first Twenty-20 International at Visakhapatnam Sunday.
With 14 required off the last over, Umesh Yadav was hit for a boundary each by Australian Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins, as they reached the target of 127 off the last delivery of the match.
Glen Maxwell scored the highest for Australia with 56 off 43 balls and Darcy Short made 37 off 37 balls. For India, Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets.
India batting first 126 for 7 in the 20 overs. With 50, KL Rahul top scored for India. NM Coulter-Nile claimed three Indian wickets.
The final T-20 match will be played in Bengaluru on Wednesday. After it, the two teams will play a five-match ODI series beginning 2nd of next month.
