Indian bowlers made a spirited fight back as they came back to restrict the Bangladeshi batsmen to a poultry score of 222 in the final of Asia Cup 2018.
The Bangladeshi team looked on track to reach a huge score beyond 300 but the Indian spinners bowled some tight spells to compel the batsmen to make mistakes and throw away their wickets.
Bangladesh raced off the blocks at the start, only to finish with a whimper. Things really took a drastic turn for them once part timer Kedar Jadhav was introduced in those middle overs. Up until that point, they had India rattled as opener Liton Das ended up with a career best score of 121 off 117 balls.
Part timer Jadhav lived up to his reputation of breaking partnerships at crucial moments again as he ended the first wicket 120-run partnership between Mehidy Hassan and centurion Das with his off spinners.
Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzevendra Chahal complimented Jadhav's efforts as they came to their own and made life difficult for the Bangladeshi middle order that crumbled ridiculously to take the team total to a huge score.
Bangladesh could not even last the 50 overs and were bowled out for 222 In 48.3 overs.
