Afghanistan, a name that was not familiar to the cricketing fraternity, has suddenly taken the world by storm in the last 2-3 years. Hard work and dedication of the Afghani boys were recognized by the world for making all the right waves and did not take much time for them to earn a test match status from ICC.

Exactly a year after earning the status, the new boys of Test cricket will be playing their maiden Test against India in Bengaluru on Thursday. The one-off Test match will start at 9.30 am.

Afghanistan is confident of giving India a tough time while India sees this as a preparatory game for tougher times during the England tour.

Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian Team as regular skipper Virat Kohli has decided to skip the series, also owing to a neck injury sustained during the recently concluded IPL.

Asghar Stanikzai will lead the Afghanistan side and all eyes will be on the spin wizard Rashid Khan, who has bamboozled best in the world with his mixture of leg spin and his unplayable googly.
