When India meets New Zealand on Tuesday at Old Trafford fora spot in the final, for Virat Kohli and New Zealand Captain Kane Williamson,it was repeat of rivalry that started 11 years back as youngstar.
In the 2008 under 19 world Cup, which was won by India underVirat Kohli, in the Semi Final India beat New Zealand and Kane Williamson was the captain of New Zealandjunior team.
In the past 11 years both the cricketer turned out to be the finest cricketer and went on to become captain of their national team and at Old Trafford on Tuesday they would meet once again to get into the final of another World Cup.
Last time, India stopped New Zeeland and Virat Kohliactually took the wicket of Kane Williamson. Although there is no chance ofKohli actually bowling in the Semi Final time but certainly he would like tothe same result.
But for Williamson, this is a chance to avenge the defeat of2008 when New Zealand lost by three wickets.
Both the team did not play against each other in the groupstage as their match was washed out. But India is silently happy that they arenot meeting dangerous England in the Semi Final as latter defeated India comprehensivelyin the group and psychologically they England is ahead of India.
Interestingly Jadeja, Boult and Southee also played in the semifinal on 2008 under 19world cup.
