King Kohli today reached his third consecutive hundred in the ongoing ODI series against the Windies, thus helping in tumbling more records under his name. When it comes to chasing targets in ODI cricket, nobody gets better than the Indian skipper.

This comes just two days after he became the fastest batsmen to reach 10,000 runs, surpassing batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar's record of achieving in it 259 innings. Well, the wonder boy took 54 innings less than the legend to achieve it.

With this ton, he became the first Indian batsmen to score three consecutive ODI centuries. In fact, this is his fourth consecutive ODI ton in his last four games in India.

Also, he is just eleven tons away from equaling Tendulkar's record of 49 centuries and just 12 away from becoming the batsmen with highest number of centuries in ODIs. Going at this rate, it won't be far before we witness that feat too

The new Mr. Consistent of world cricket has now smashed 23 ODI hundred while chasing, most by any batsmen in the world. He averages 78.47 (till Oct 24) while chasing, way ahead of the likes of some of the best finishers in the world, MS Dhoni, AB De Villiers, Michael Bevan and others to name a few.

He crafted his name in the record books for another reason today – fastest to 6,000 ODI runs in Asia.

A MILESTONE CHECK

Test Records

• Most number of runs in a calendar year by an Indian batsman in 2012, 2015 and 2016.
• First ever batsman to score double hundreds in four consecutive test series. (Against West Indies, England, New Zealand and Bangladesh)
• Kohli scored 610 runs against Sri Lanka in 2017 which is the highest by an Indian in a three-match test series.

ODI Records

• Highest historic rating points by an Indian batsman with 909 points. He is just 26 points behind Vivian Richards who had 935 points in ICC rankings.
• Kohli has scored over 300 runs on six different occasions in a bilateral series. No other player has managed to do it more than four times.
• Holds the record for scoring the fastest ODI ton by an Indian. He achieved the feat in just 52 balls against Australia back in 2013 in Jaipur.
• Kohli is the fastest Indian to cross 1000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 run mark in ODIs. He is the fastest in the world to cross the 8000, 9000 and 10,000 run mark.
• He is the fastest Indian to reach 10, 15, 20 and 25 centuries and the fastest in the world to cross the mark of 30 and 35 centuries.
• Holds the record for scoring most runs in a bilateral series. He scored 558 runs in the recently concluded ODI series against South Africa in South Africa.
• Since 2010, barring 2015, Kohli has scored most number of runs in a calendar year by an Indian batsman. In 2011 and 2017, he scored 1381 and 1460 runs respectively that was the highest runs by a player in that particular calendar year.
• He has scored 23 centuries while chasing which is the highest by any batsman.
• Kohli has scored 16 ODI centuries as a captain. It is the highest among the Indian captains.
• Virat Kohli is the first captain to hit six ODI hundreds in a calendar year.
• Kohli is also the fastest skipper to cross 1000 runs. He went past AB De Villiers' record of 18 innings.

T20 Records

• Kohli has scored the most number of 50s in T20 cricket. He has gone past the 50-run mark on 18 occasions which is two more than New Zealand's Martin Guptill.
• Fastest to reach 1000 T20 international runs. He crossed the milestone in just 27 innings while Australia's Aaron Finch achieved it in 29 innings.
• First batsman to score more than 600 runs in a calendar year in T20 internationals (2016).
• Broke the world record for playing the most innings before recording a duck in T20Is. He recorded his maiden T20I duck after 47 innings, playing in his 52nd T20 international

It is evident that King Kohli is not someone to go by the records and will just stop at this. The hunger and passion for the game has turned this wonder kid of Indian cricket to one of the most consistently devastating batsman around the world. This is just the beginning for Virat "Unstoppable" Kohli.
