On the occasion of International Women's Day (IWD), people globally and in India celebrated it in various unique ways. This year's theme of IWD was #BalanceforBetter. Celebrating women's achievement, raising awareness against bias and taking action for equality is all that this IWD 2019 is all about.
President of India Ram Nath Kovind finding no better day then this in celebrating womanhood, presented the Nari Shakti awards, 2018, the highest civilian honour for women in India, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

It is the Ministry of Women and Child Development who confers the Nari Shakti Puraskar to women and institutions in recognition of their relentless service towards the cause of women empowerment and social welfare.
Forty One individuals and three institutions were given the award. The awardees include acid attack victim and social activist Pragya Prasun, Rani Mistri Sunita Devi, first woman marine pilot of India Reshma Nilofer Naha, woman commando trainer Dr Seema Rao, spiritual and motivational speaker Brahma Kumari Shivani and wildlife conservationist Sonia Jabbar.
The Google Doodle which comes up with something unique in every occasion, has also come with an unique doodle this IWD.
The Doodle opens up 11 dialogue boxes with 'Woman' written in 11 languages. After clicking on the doodle it leads to 14 quotes written by famous personalities.
The President and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi extended their greetings to all the women out there on this occasion.
