With Zomato in the headlines again, the food delivery staff of the online company launched an indefinite strike in West Bengal's Howrah. The staff alleged that they were forced to deliver beef and pork food items.
On the other hand, some delivery partners have threatened to go on strike as they were unwilling to deliver pork and beef to customers. The company has said that it is trying to resolve the issue.
Accusing the online food delivery platform of neglecting their grievances, protestors raised slogans of "Zomato ki dadagiri nahi chalegi".
Supporting the protest, West Bengal Irrigation Minister Rajib Banerjee told news agency IANS that the management should agree with them, otherwise, there can be a big problem".
Banerjee assured that he will look into the matter and take necessary steps.
