Vijay Mallya attacks PM Modi on Twitter

Day after hitting out at the government for biased treatment of privately owned airlines, fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya took to Twitter again this morning to hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mallya alleged that PM Modi had claimed that the government recovered more money from him than he owed the banks, while the banks made different claims in English courts. "One or the other is lying," he tweeted.

Mallya in a series of tweets alleged that the government was "discriminating" between state-owned and private airlines and extended his "sympathies" for the cash-strapped Jet Airways. According to him  the Centre is responsible for the collapse of Jet Airways and his now-defunct Kingfisher, questioning the efforts to bail out ailing Air India.

Mallya, who is facing trial for alleged fraud and money laundering amounting to Rs 9,000 crore, is currently facing trial at a London court.
