Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Thursday has ordered the suspension and arrest of a school teacher, after she protested during a Janata Darbar session in Dehradun.
The teacher, Uttara Bahuguna, had protested seeking her transfer from Naugaon in Uttarkashi district where she works as a primary school principal, claiming that she had been posted in isolated areas for the last 25 years.
The teacher had been seen sharing her problems and requesting the CM for a transfer and a video of the incident has been doing the rounds, over social media, showing Rawat dismissing her request.
Following the dismissal, Bahuguna argues with the CM who then shouted, "Suspend karo ise abhi (Suspend her immediately). Take her into police custody."
Former CM Harish Rawat has condemned the action and has called for a cancel on her suspension.
Reportedly, Uttara Pant Bahuguna has been released from police custody on Thursday.
