Heavy rainscontinued for the second consecutive day at Mumbai and its neigbouring areasand at least five people have been injured in rain-related incidents.
Due to heavyto very heavy rainfall in the state of Maharashtra, local trains remainedlargely unaffected and were running as per their schedule.
Moreover,the Central Railway (CR) also cancelled some express or passenger trains inview of IMD's heavy rainfall forecast especially those between Mumbai and Pune.
As per theinformation stated in a press release of Central Railway some trains have beencancelled and some diverted.
The Mumbai-PunePragati Express, Mumbai-Pune Sinhagad Express, Bhusaval-Mumbai Passenger andPune-Panvel Passenger have been cancelled on Saturday and Sunday. The Bhusaval-PuneExpress has been diverted through Daund-Manmad.
The releasealso stated that Mumbai-Bhusaval Passenger will remain cancelled till July 1.
However,reports have come from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) that 39incidents of short circuit, 104 incidents of uprooting of trees have beenreported from various parts of the city.
Meanwhile,civic officials reported that a tree was uprooted as a result of incessant rainon Friday in which some cars got damaged.
In the last24 hours, Colaba observatory recorded 81.2 mm rainfall while the Santacruzweather station recorded 234.8 mm rainfall.
