The High Court of Tripura came to the rescue though and gave permission to TMC to hold their rally in front of the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan (Tagore Centenary Hall), on Sunday. The local police had earlier cancelled it. TMC have given an undertaking that there will not be a gathering of more than 500. They have also promised that there will be no such gathering in any other place.
Leader Sushmita Dev thanked the court on Twitter saying, "I thank the Honble High court of Tripura for allowing us to hold the meeting of @abhishekaitc with restrictions of upto a certain number of people only @at the same venue. The police has been acting so arbitrarily & this is a moral victory. Thank the supporters of @AITC4Tripura".
Mr. Banerjee will be the key speaker in the rally in Tripura. It is seen as important as TMC look to get a stronghold in the state.
