SC agrees to hear review pleas on Rafale deal

After former Union Ministers Yashwant Sinha and Arun Shourie and senior advocate Prashant Bhushan moved to the Supreme Court, seeking review of its 14th December judgment on the Rafale fighter jet deal, the apex court on Thursday agreed to hear a plea seeking review of its verdict in the Rafale case.

The petitioners alleged that the court relied upon "incorrect claims" made by the Centre. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi assured them that the apex court would hear their review pleas in the Rafale case and said that the judges who should be on the Bench were sitting in a different combination.

"We will do something about it. We are sitting in a different combination. It is difficult to change it," CJI told Prashant Bhushan.
