The three-member mediation committee, formed for finding a solution to Ayodhya land dispute case, has been granted time till August 15, said the Supreme Court (SC) after a hearing today.
Earlier, the former SC judge FMI Kalifulla headed committee, comprising spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravishankar and senior advocate Sriram Panchu, a renowned mediator; sought extension of the deadline in order to complete mediation proceedings.
The plea was heard by a five-judge Constitution bench, which comprised of Chief justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer.
At the same time the top court has also allowed parties to raise objections before the panel till June 30.
