Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah were present at the party headquarters in New Delhi following their impressive performance today in The Karnataka elections.
The party headquarter witnessed elated faces of BJP members as the party turned out to be the single largest party in the state by securing 104 seats out of 224 seats. Meanwhile, the battle to form government is now left to Governor of the State as a coalition between Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) may overthrow BJP's hopes.
However, PM Modi congratulated and thanked all Karnataka BJP workers for their efforts in the countdown to the day of election.
"I am happy about Karnataka's victory but on the other hand, I am saddened by the loss of lives in Varanasi. I extend my condolences to the families of the deceased and assure that the government will do whatever it can to support these families," the PM said
"They say BJP is a party of Hindi speaking states. Is Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra states in North East Hindi speaking states? No, BJP represents India. There was no barrier between people of Karnataka and me. I will always cherish the affection I received from them," Modi added.
