UnionDefence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said there might be a major shift inIndia's policy of using nuclear weapons. Currently India has a 'no first usepolicy' on nuclear weapons.
"Tilltoday, our nuclear policy is 'No First Use'. What happens in future depends onthe circumstances," said Rajnath Singh, while speaking at an event in Pokhran.

Also,the Defence Minister tweeted, "Pokhran is the area which witnessed Atal Ji'sfirm resolve to make India a nuclear power and yet remain firmly committed tothe doctrine of 'No First Use'. India has strictly adhered to this doctrine.What happens in future depends on the circumstances."

It maybe mentioned here that, India had declared a 'no first use' nuclear policyfollowing the nuclear weapons test in 1998.
