It is Easter Sunday today and Christians all over the country are in a festive mood as they celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus. Known as Resurrection Sunday, legends say that Jesus was reborn on the third day of his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. This festival is celebrated just two days after Good Friday.
On the occasion, President, Vice President and Prime Minister have extended their greetings to the nation.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, President Ram Nath Kovind said, Jesus Christ symbolised the principles of humanism, love and truth.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu urged the people to take pledge to build a new world where the unifying powers of love, respect and equality overcome the divisive forces of hate, discord and discrimination. Mr Naidu also hoped that this festival bring peace and harmony in our lives.
