BJP candidate from Bhopal Sadhvi Pragya Thakur once again courted controversy after stating Nathuram Godse as "deshbhakt". Reacting to Kamal Haasan's comment on Hindu terror and Godse, who had assassinated Mahatma Gandhi, Sadhvi Pragya said, "Nathuram Godse was a deshbhakt, is a deshbhakt and will remain a deshbhakt." She also added that people calling him a terrorist should instead look within, such people will be given a befitting reply in these elections.
Earlier,actor Kamal Haasan had said, "The first terrorist post-Independence wasNathuram Godse, a Hindu. It started from there. He killed Mahatma Gandhi. I amquestioning this as the great grandson of Gandhi."
Notably,BJP had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) against KamalHaasan's remark. A criminal complaint was also lodged against the actor turnedpolitician.It should be also noted that Sadhvi has also stirredseveral controversies ever since she was declared as BJP candidate from Bhopal.
