LPG cylinder prices hiked again

The common man of this country are on the verge of more suffering from price hike of essential commodities as the government on Sunday decided to increase prices of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders with effect from October 1.

The price of non-subsidized LPG cylinders has been hiked by Rs 59 while the subsidized cylinders have been hiked by Rs 2.89 per cylinder.

The subsidized cylinders will now cost Rs 502.5 per cylinder from October 1, 2018.

According to an Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) statement, the prices have been hiked this month owing to change in international price and foreign exchange fluctuations.

The actual impact on subsidized domestic LPG customers is only Rs 2.89 per cylinder, which is mainly due to GST on the above, IOC added

Apart from cooking fuel, the government also decided to hike prices of alternative for petrol and diesel, Compressed Natural gas (CNG) in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

The price of CNG has also been hiked by Rs 1.70 per kg in Delhi and Rs 1.95 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
