Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav hassaid that Rahul Gandhi's decision to quit from his post as Congress Presidentis suicidal.
RJD Chief Yadav said that Gandhi's decision to quit asthe Congress President will not only ring the death knell for his party but allforces who are fighting against the Sangh Parivar. Yadav also said that hisresignation from the post of Congress chief would also be akin to falling intothe BJP's trap.
He further stated that if the Congress makes anon-Gandhi the party President they will be accused of being a "puppet" of theGandhi family adding that why should Rahul Gandhi give such an opportunity tohis political detractors.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, while analyzing the 2019 Lok Sabhapoll result said that the opposition should admit that the resounding victory forthe Modi government was a collective failure and should introspect on what wentwrong. Yadav further claimed that the opposition parties failed to synchronisetheir strategy and actions leading to the absence of a national narrative forthe public.
The RJD chief further referred to the fact that noclear PM candidate emerged from the opposition against Narendra Modi sayingthat the opposition could not choose one dulha (groom) for their baraat(wedding procession).
He also said that the opposition should havecollectively projected Gandhi as their PM candidate adding that there wasnothing wrong for the regional parties to bargain for more seats but theyshould not have done the strategic blunder of not projecting someone who has anational perspective as the PM candidate.
