Following the escalation of the stone-pelting issue in Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Reserve Police Force has trained a team of female commandos.
Lately, the incidents of stone-pelting have been on the rise in the northern state with the women joining the pelters.
These women commandos have undergone rigorous training which include being blindfolded to deal with night-time deployment, repairing and assembling weapons in under a minute in case of any malfunction etc.
On May 7, R Thirumani, a tourist from Chennai was hit by a stone during a skirmish in Narbal area. Earlier that month, a bus carrying school students was ambushed by pelters in Shopian district.
On April 30, seven tourists were wounded in south Kashmir's Anantnag district when pelters had targeted vehicles.
