The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is back in the news and this time for storming the Vice Chancellor's house by angry students of the Left bloc.

The reason, the JNU's decision to hold online examination for admission to the University. Seven students are already on the hunger strike in protest of that.

But last night the students stormed VC's residence and confined his wife only to be rescued by fellow professor's wife.

Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar alleged on Monday that the varsity students forcibly entered his house and confined his wife inside for several hours.

According to police sources, students from Left outfits went to the vice-chancellor's residence to demand an audience with him since he had not been meeting them. The students allegedly stormed inside Mr Kumar's residence while he was away and surrounded his wife. Police were called in and the wives of other university professors rescued her, a professor said.

Mr Kumar's wife was rushed to a hospital as she was in a state of trauma. But VC made it clear that he would not file a police complaint.
