Congress leader and MP from Kerala's Wayanad Rahul Gandhitook a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter asking him two questionsregarding the India China standoff.
A day after the PM Modi held an all-party meeting to discussthe India-China conflict at Ladhak in which 20 Indian jawans were martyred, PMModi said on Friday "Neither is anyone inside our territory nor is any of ourpost captured, India wants peace and friendship, but upholding sovereignty isforemost.".
Rahul Gandhi asked PM Modi in a tweet, "PM has surrendered Indian territory to Chinese aggression. If the land was Chinese: 1. Why were our soldiers killed? 2. Where were they killed?"
PM Modi also said, "Twenty of our brave soldiers madethe supreme sacrifice for the nation in Ladakh but also taught a lesson tothose who had dared to look towards our motherland. The nation will foreverremember their valour and sacrifice," he said, adding that the"entire country is hurt and angry at the steps taken by China at LAC (Lineof Actual Control)".
In an official statement, Congress chief, Sonia Gandhiasserted, that the all-party meeting "should have come sooner and immediatelyafter the government had been reportedly informed about the Chinese intrusionon May 5 into several places in Ladakh".
"We have somespecific questions, for the government: On which date did the Chinese troopsintrude into our territory in Ladakh? When did the government find out aboutthe Chinese transgressions into our territory? Was it on May 5, as reported, orearlier? Does the government not receive, on a regular basis, satellitepictures of the borders of our country? In the government's considered view, was there a failure of intelligence?" Sonia Gandhi further asked.
