India China senior military officials to discuss Ladakh dispute today

India andChina are holding a meeting of senior army officials to discuss the ongoingstandoff between border troops in Ladakh on Monday.

The second meeting since June 6 is being held today, a week after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a face-off with Chinese troops in the region's Galwan Valley.

The meeting is held at Moldo on theChinese side of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) opposite Chushul.

On June 15,20 Indian Army soldiers, including a commanding officer, were killed after hand-to-handcombat with troops of China People's Liberation Army that lasted for hours.

In the previous meeting, Lt Gen Harinder Singh, the commander of 14 Corps, along with other officers had met the Chinese side of the delegation which was represented by Major General Lin Liu, corps commander of the South Xinjiang Military Division. However, the discussions and negotiations have only reached a deadlock.
