Acting in the light of International Court of Justice's (ICJ) verdict, India has asked Pakistan to provide unimpeded consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav.
As per sources, New Delhi has asked Islamabad that the consular access should be provided in an environment free from the fear of intimidation and reprisal in the light of the orders of the ICJ.
However, Pakistan is yet to respond on this request.
Earlier, Islamabad had offered to arrange for a meeting with Jadhav on Friday, however, only under "Pakistani laws". This would mean that Pakistani officials would be present and the proceedings of the meeting would be recorded through electronic means.
