A CRPF bus was damaged on Saturday after an explosion took place in a car on Jammu-Srinagar Highway. No casualties have been reported.The driver of the car, who was the lone occupant, appears to have escaped.
The incident occurred in Ramban's Banihal district due to cylinder leak, an official said, adding that no terror links have been established yet.
A CRPF vehicle, which was passing through the highway at the time of the incident, suffered slight damages in the rear side, but all the personnel on board escaped unhurt.Around 10 vehicles were reported to be part of the convoy.
An official said that the explosion occurred inside a private car, which was a Santro and completely destroyed the vehicle.
"The CRPF present at the spot found urea, an oil bottle, and one LPG cylinder among the things recovered from the Santro," said an official.
"The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas cylinder inside the car but this is based on preliminary examination of the car's wreckage ANI quoted a police officer as having said.
Further, a CRPF convoy was at a significant distance from explosion site but sources said that the explosion didn't not seem to be an attack.
The officer said the police had started an investigation and forensic experts have also been summoned to help the investigation.
