BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa resigns as Karnataka CM before floor test; skips trust vote

BJP's happiness from the recently concluded Karnataka Elections 2018 was short lived as BS Yeddyurappa , who was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the State on May 17, has resigned from the post today.

Surprisingly, Yeddyurappa resigned as the CM even before going for the floor test in the Assembly. The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the floor test today at 4 PM instead of the 15 days provided by the Governor to prove majority.

BS Yeddyurappa said, "I will go before the public and seek their support. I am not moving this motion. I will go straight away to Raj Bhavan and submit my resignation."

"Democracy has won in Karnataka. The conspiracy made by the BJP has failed to authorize the anti-constitutional measures," Karnataka Congress' Siddaramaiah tweeted.

Following the fall down of BJP, Congress and Janata Dal (Secular)  will now form the government in alliance.
