BJP has announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha biennial elections REPRESENTATIVE

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) declared its candidates for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha Biennial Elections in multiple states on Sunday.

The BJP has nominated Dharmsheela Gupta and Bhim Singh as their candidates from Bihar, and Raja Devendra Pratap Singh from Chhattisgarh.

Subhash Barala is set to run for office in Haryana, Narayana Krishanasa Bhandage in Karnataka, Mahendra Bhatt in Uttarakhand, and Samik Bhattacharya in West Bengal.

RPN Singh, Sudhanshu Trivedi, Chaudhary Tejveer Singh, Sadhna Singh, Amarpal Maurya, Sangita Balwant, and Navin Jain are set to contest from Uttar Pradesh.

In the meantime, 58 Rajya Sabha members, including eight Central Ministers, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and BJP national President JP Nadda, will conclude their terms by the first week of May this year.

Mansukh Mandaviya, Bhupender Yadav, Parshottam Rupala, Dharmendra Pradhan, V Murleedharan, Narayan Rane, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, and Ashwini Vaishnaw are among the eight ministers set to retire by April 2-3, along with 47 other MPs, including Manmohan Singh and Nadda.

Several MPs are retiring, including 28 from the BJP, 11 from Congress, four from Trinamool Congress, four from Bharat Rashtra Samithi, two from Biju Janata Dal, two from Rashtriya Janata Dal, two from Janata Dal (United), and one each from YSRCP, Shiv Sena, NCP, Telugu Desam Party, and Sikkim Democratic Front.

Jaya Bachchan from the Samajwadi Party, Anil Baluni and Prakash Javadekar from the BJP, and Amar Patnaik from the BJD are some of the leaders who will be retiring from the Rajya Sabha.

The departure of these Members of Parliament and the results of the forthcoming general elections will affect the level of representation each political party will hold in the Upper House throughout the next term of the Lok Sabha.

Currently, the BJP holds 93 seats in the Rajya Sabha, while the Congress has 30 seats, the Trinamool Congress has 13, and there are six nominated members, among others, in the 239-member house with six vacancies.
