AYUSH Ministry asks Patanjali to prove COVID-19 cure claim

In the latest development, the Ministry of Ayush on Tuesday evening has asked Patanjali to provide details of the claim made by Patanjali Ayurved about the launch of the first Ayurvedic drug made to cure coronavirus within seven days.

The ministry has asked to stop all forms of advertising and publicity of the product. In a statement released by the ministry, after few hours of Patanjali's launch of the drug Coronil, states, "Facts of the claim and details of the stated scientific study are not known to the ministry".

The ministry has asked for the details of the medicine, its components, composition, the results of its research, the hospitals where the research was conducted, whether the company had a clearance from the Institutional Ethics Committee and whether it had registered for the clinical trials.

The ministry has also asked the Uttarakhand licensing authority to provide copies of the license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines.

Ramdev earlier today claimed the medicines Coronil and Swasari were tested in clinical trials and showed "100 percent favourable results".
