An arrest warrant has been issued against Mohammed Shami in a domestic violence case.
The Indian pacer has 15 days to surrender and apply for bail, as reported by India Today television. In 2018, Shami's wife Hasin Jahan had accused him of domestic violence.
However, the BCCI has made it clear that no action will be taken against the bowler till they see the charge sheet.
BCCI official told "Yes, we do understand that an arrest warrant hasbeen issued. But don't really see us getting involved in this at this point intime. Once we see the charge sheet, we can decide how things stand and if theBCCI constitution calls for any action. But at this point in time, I would sayit is too early to take a call on the matter,"
Shami is currently part of the Indian squad and is playing the second Test against the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. In the second and final Test itself, he achieved the milestone of picking 150 wickets in Tests.
The right-arm paceman too had a great run in the World Cup, earlier, this year where he picked 14 wickets from four matches, which included a hat-trick against Afghanistan.
