Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that the agent guilty of trafficking 39 Indians to Iraq was operating his business even now and strongly recommended state women commissions to take action against such unlawful agents.
Earlier in March, Swaraj had told the Parliament that the 39 Indians, who were later abducted by the ISIS terror outfit in Mosul three years ago, were dead.
Lamenting that the agent responsible for transporting the 39 Indians to Iraq was still running his business, Swaraj asked the state women commissions to launch a crackdown on such illegal networks of agents in an address at a national conference on state women commissions.
Sushma Swaraj mentioned that the passage of the anti-trafficking bill would be a jump in the desired direction but only after the dismantling of the network of illegal agents.
The External Affairs Minister also advised the people to go through authorized government agents.
