Aaditya Thackeray Projected as Next Maharashtra CM

Aaditya Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray hasbeen proposed to be the party's chief ministerial candidate in the upcomingstate assembly elections.

It was for the first time that Sena leaders officially projectedthe leader as the party's choice and the announcement has come shortly after hestarted his Jan Ashirwad Daura from Jalgaon. However, the chief of Yuva Sena, Aadityasaid that his tour is not for any political gains.

Speaking at the yatra, he said that Jan Ashirvad Yatra is not atour for elections nor is it a tour to get any post or for him to becomesomething. Rather, this tour is to build a new Maharashtra. "This is themoment, an opportunity to build a new Maharashtra. I am going to visit allvillages whether it is Sena's bastion or not. The tour is to take the saffronflag to every house in the state but it is not to seek votes. I consider thisto be my tirtha yatra," said young Thackeray.

However, the decision might not go well with the coalition partnerBJP as its national secretary Saroj Pandey said that the next chief ministerwould be from BJP. The chief ministerial candidate of Aaditya has been calledby leader Sanjay Raut and Sena MLA Kishor Patil on the choice of both the partyand the people.

According to party sources, he may contest from the Worli or Sewriassembly segment and if things go well, Aaditya would be the first from theThackeray family to contest electoral politics.
