Zoramthanga, leading the Mizo National Front (MNF) will take oath as the Chief Minister of Mizoram on December 15. The decision was taken at a meeting between Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan and a delegation of the MNF party led by Zoramthanga at Raj Bhavan in Aizawl on Thursday evening.
Earlier, the Governor invited the CM designate Zoramthanga to the meeting to discuss over the formation of the new government in the state. In the 40-seated Assembly, MNF has secured a massive victory with 26 seats. The ruling Congress was reduced to 5 seats as per the poll results declared on 11th.
The 74-yr old MNF Chief will be sworn-in as the next CM of Mizoram for the third term on Saturday. He was the state chief minister for two terms earlier from 1998 to 2008.
On an invitation from Governor Rajasekharan, MNF leaders led by Zoramthanga submitted the list of his party's newly elected legislators yesterday. The swearing ceremony will take place at Raj Bhavan on Saturday at 11 am.
