A woman was allegedly set on fire by her husband and in-laws as she failed to bring more dowries. The incident took place in Goalpara district's Krishnai area on Saturday night.
The woman was shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the family members of the woman have lodge a complaint to the police against the husband and father-in-law identified to be Shahjahan Ali and Jamal Ali respectively. The family members of the woman claimed that her in-laws used to torture her and demanded them dowry.
The incident has sent shock waves in the locality as her neighbours demanded stern action against her in-laws and husband.
