The fate of Guwahati airport will be decided tomorrow as Adani group has won the bids of the 5 of the 6 airports that were decided today. They were the highest bidder for the Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Mangaluru and Jaipur airports, informed Airport Authority of India(AAI).
The bid for the Guwahati airport will be opened on Tuesday as there are six tenders for the Guwahati airport, which is one of the busiest airport of the country outside the Metros. The bid were selected "monthly per-passenger fee" and the Adani group were "very aggressive" as compared to other bidders.
The five airports would be handed over to Adani group after completion of formalities, the AAI official said. Altogether 32 technical bids were received from 10 companies to operate six airports currently under AAI's management. All these airports are to be maintained on public-private partnership (PPP) basis.
