National President of Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah on Thursday evening said that Himanta Biswa Sarma will not make the parliamentary poll debut.
In a tweet, Shah said that Sarma is the convener of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), he has to look after all the parliamentary seats across the region.
He also added that the decision was taken by BJP central leadership for the greater interest of Assam and NE. However, this has been viewed as a balm to sulking Himanta Biswa Sarma.
