We won’t Accept CAB: Akhil Gogoi

The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi on Thursday said that they wouldn't accept Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in any circumstances. He said that if the Cab would be placed in the Parliament in November then it will be implemented.

Addressing a press conference here today, Gogoi said, "The governmentis trying to bring division to the opposition forces. No one has come forwardagainst CAB and even the nationalist organizations have stepped back fromprotesting against CAB."

Gogoi further stated that it has not become possible to stop BJP's depredation as they have emphasized mostly on Hindutva. He also urged all the organizations, people to unite together to protest against CAB for the sake of the state.

Speaking on the price rise, Gogoi said that there has been a massive price rise in every commodity saying that the NDA and its bhakts are lying to the people. Giving an example of a hike in petrol and diesel, Gogoi said that when the price of 1 barrel of crude oil was 111 dollars in 2011, then the price of 1 liter of petrol was Rs. 74.06 paisa. In 2019, when the price of one barrel of crude oil is 56.45 paisa then how can the price of 1 liter of petrol be Rs. 74.80 paisa, asked Gogoi.

The KMSS chief stated that the price of crude oil has been raised after the government implemented excise tax and VAT on petrol and diesel. The government said that the tax has been implemented for the people but the government has done nothing for the people with the tax taken from the people.

He said that the government implemented 46.8% tax on petrol and 36.3% in diesel for which there has been a massive price rise. He further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is campaigning for Donald Trump with the public money.
